Inspired by Asia Society Hong Kong Center’s exhibition Singing and Dancing with Brush and Ink: The Art of Wesley Tongson and the Wesley Tongson Archive at Asia Art Archive, Hong Kong artist Wai Pongyu and the ASHK Curatorial Team proudly present UNARCHIVED: Techno & Impermanent Flux.
UNARCHIVED treats performance as an act of raw honesty — a method of reanimating memory not on paper, but through moving bodies. Wai Pongyu approaches the archive as material to be reenacted and rave as an art form, celebrating the dance floor as a source of resilience, freedom, and joy. Expect shifting soundscapes from atmospheric, nostalgic pop to heavy-hitting techno, paired with dynamic visual projections in an environment built on proximity, sweat, and intensity.
Join us for a one-night-only, after-hours activation at Asia Society Hong Kong Center’s Chantal Miller Gallery, translating visual and textual records into a visceral, collective sensory experience.
No re-tracing. No place to hide. Just the flux of the present moment.
